I’ll leave this site up for now (or as long I’m allowed to) but my blogging will now take place at <a href=”http://rhinosplode.wordpress.com”>Rhinosplode</a>. I’m not ready to pay to make the Edublogs ads go away; while I don’t begrudge them their business model, it’s just not worth it to me to keep explaining to my students that I didn’t create the links, etc.
I’m honestly not convinced that students need to keep blogs for school. I think there are plenty of other ways that we can learn from them, and they from us. If students want to blog on their own, right on, but I’m officially finished with forcing them to do so. Unless, of course, you can convince me otherwise.
